Community Hall

Drighlington Methodist Church's commitment to love and serve extends to the use of our community hall for use by many groups of all ages from across our community. If you'd like to hire the hall for an event, please contact us

We have completed our significant project to expand the community hall space, make it accessible for all, improve our kitchen area and the hospitality areas. We can now welcome different community groups to use our facilities at the same time.

Our Vision:

  • To provide a safe, warm, flexible space that is accessible to all

  • To provide opportunities for people to meet together in a safe space

  • To be welcoming with hospitality areas where everyone can share hopes and dreams.

  • To be a green and sustainable place fit for the twenty-first century including digital technology.

  • As the people of God, to be open to new opportunities for service within this space.

The new hall allows more groups to meet at the same time while ensuring that each group has access to toilets, refreshments and separate entry and exit.

In order to fulfil our mission to treasure the environment and commit to sustainability in view of the growing climate crisis, the new hall has excellent green credentials. We're working towards the Eco Church Award (An A Rocha UK project), which requires an in-depth look at our present practices, making our buildings as sustainable and energy efficient as possible now, and encouraging everyone to play their part in becoming more aware - because small steps matter.

Throughout the community hall renovation project, we recycled and reused materials as much as possible. We have consolidated the three separate heating systems and reduced our use of gas, installed insulation, energy efficient lighting to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible. Also we used local companies and contractors and environmentally friendly materials as much as we could.

Phase 2 will be to install Photo Voltaic panels on the church roof so we can generate our own electricity. If you would like to donate to this, please contact us.
